Simply translated, pura vida means “simple life” or “pure life”
But in Costa Rica it is more than a saying, it is a way of life.
You can use it to say hello, goodbye, to tell someone you are doing great or everything is cool! Pura Vida is the way the people here live. They are happy, don’t stress, more relaxed, live simply, and are thankful. Sounds pretty great, right! We could all use a little more pura vida in our lives.
I tacked on the word island to my blog, as a way to represent myself in this journey. An island is alone, yet surrounded by water and here in Costa Rica, there are many little ones everywhere. I guess I feel a little like an island, but I am surrounded by my family and this beautiful country.
